This platform update has some personal implications for the Moonshine Marketing team.
Keeping up with major ad platform updates is super critical to keeping ahead of the pack when it comes to being an effective advertiser. Being able to take advantage of, learn, and incorporate new features effectively can give you an advantage that gives yourself or your clients an unfair advantage. That’s why in the past we’ve covered things like the end of NSFW ads on Reddit.
A couple of month back I made a post on the official Reddit Ads subreddit with a humble suggestion for a new feature. The Reddit admin team responded they’d look into it and I went on my way without really thinking much about it again until yesterday. For those of us that run agencies or have a company with multiple brands it’s really difficult to know what is happening with what account especially when you’re managing 10 or 20 or more and you get an “ad disapproved” email. Nothing like furiously logging in and out of 20 Reddit accounts at 1am trying to figure out what’s going on.
Yesterday, they tagged me in a post thanking me for the idea and they rolled the feature!
So moving forward, when you get an email from Reddit about ad approvals or ad rejections, your username will be in the subject line of said email. This should dramatically streamline the workflow for marketers like all of you reading.
More than that though this is a huge win for the Reddit ads team. I’ve had mixed feelings on them in the past, but this goes a long way to showing myself and others that they take feedback seriously and want to create a great advertiser experience.
